This recipe is so delicious and easy to make and it does not take very long.

I found this magical recipe in The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook; in my opinion, this is a five star cookbook because it has so many recipes that you hear about throughout the whole Harry Potter series. It also tells you which book and chapter each recipe is mentioned in. I love the Harry Potter series and am so happy that I made this recipe and am sharing it with you because it is absolutely positively mandatory that this recipe and this cookbook be shared.

Now I want to talk a little bit about Molly’s Meatballs with Onion Sauce.  I love these meatballs and cannot wait until you get to try them for yourself; they are pretty healthy and definately delicious. These meatballs have healthy ingredients like onion and parsley. I served my meatballs and sauce with a side of roasted carrots plus a superfood called quinoa that my aunt and I made. It is a delicious meal.

Molly’s Meatballs with Onion Sauce

Recipe adapted slightly from The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook.

Serves 6

Ingredients:

Meatballs:

1 lb extra-lean ground beef

1/2 cup fresh or dry breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1 onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Onion Sauce:

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion, chopped

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 (14-oz) can chicken broth

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 bay leaf

Instructions:

1. For the meatballs, combine the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, parsley, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a large bowl and mix to combine.

2. Heat the oil in a skillet. Form the meat mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls, and working in batches, fry the balls on each side until well browned, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer the meatballs to a dinner plate.

3. For the onion sauce, add 2 tablespoon oil to the skillet and heat. Add the chopped onion and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Add the flour and stir to combine. Pour in the chicken broth, Worcestershire, and bay leaf, and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling.

4. Return the meatballs to the skillet with the sauce and simmer for 15 minutes.

5. Serve over anything you like, such as rice, mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or quinoa.
