Today I made another delicious recipe from The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook: Hot Chocolate! I love this recipe and really enjoyed this beautiful Hot Chocolate. This recipe is simple and fun to make, and the result is tasty. I hope that you try making this delicious recipe for yourself!
Recipe adapted slightly from The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook.
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon instant coffee
1 small pinch sea salt
2 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate
2 cups whole milk
3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Unsweetened cocoa powder, for serving (optional)
1. Combine the water, sugar, cocoa powder, instant coffee, and salt in a small saucepan and cook over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture is hot and bubbling.
2. Remove from the heat and whisk in the chopped chocolate until smooth.
3. Return to the heat and add the milk, cooking and stirring until just heated through (do not boil). Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
4. Pour the hot chocolate immediately into four mugs or tea cups. You can top the hot chocolate with a dollop of wiped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.
